Chapter 6
1. I think that teaching in a classroom with an abundance of digital technologies would be effective and fun, but somewhat challenging as well. There are many interesting, new technologies in the world today that can benefit the classroom. A classroom that has more technology can provide the students with more information, hands on activity, and interactions amongst peers. Teaching in a classroom with new technology will keep information new and keep the students and faculty up to date on the latest technology. However, sometimes technology can be challenging. This can all be solved by training the school faculty on how to operate the new technology so they can pass the information on to their students effectively. Technology is always changing and it is important to realize that, with a changing world, we need to be educated on the new programs that arise.
Chapter 11
2. The traditional technologies I would use in a class room would be an overhead projector and a tape recorder. The emerging technologies I would use are Internet video and CD player. I would use the overheard projector to display notes or visuals that I want the entire class to see without having to make multiple copies for each student. As a spanish teacher, with the tape recorder, I would record classroom discussion in spanish to listen to later to see who needs to improve accents or particular vocabulary. I would use the Internet video to display clips of spanish videos so my class can get familiar with hearing the spanish language. The CD player would serve the same purpose as the videos, just with spanish music. Listening to spanish music is a great way to familiarize yourself with the foreign language.
